About the Role
The Senior Manager role is responsible for supporting each region's Executive Leadership Team to lead and manage major initiatives, provide expert strategic advice, establish effective process and governance mechanisms, manage key stakeholder relationships and improve collaboration and innovation across the group and the department.
The role leads the coordination of emergency management and regional administration within each region and provides advisory support to the Office of the Regional Director. The role plays a key role in championing and delivering the Department's overarching corporate governance, resource and performance reporting, quality and continuous improvement frameworks. The position leads functions that support consistent and robust regional accountability systems and works closely with executives and managers across the Department. The role is part of a dynamic peer group across the regions focussed on delivering an integrated and strategy led approach to implementing policy.
The role is responsible for building and enhancing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including ministerial offices, other government departments, external organisations and agencies. The role requires agile responses, sound judgement, good communications and an ability to influence and understand the department's structure, responsibilities, climate, and culture in developing appropriate advice.

Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.
