About the role
The Project Manager will play a key role in the implementation of new Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) for rental homes. The MEES are due to come into effect progressively from March 2027 and will set minimum energy performance requirements for residential rental properties, aiming to improve energy efficiency, renters’ comfort and safety, and reduce energy bills.
The Project Manager will deliver operational readiness activities to ensure that CAV is ready to monitor and enforce compliance of the new standards, and industry and consumers understand the new rights and obligations. In this role, you will work across CAV, other Government authorities and departments, and industry and community stakeholders to support the implementation of these reforms. This will include mapping and tracking project outputs, identifying and managing risks and issues as they arise, preparing regulatory guides and drafting information on the reforms for public and internal audiences in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Accountabilities
· Communicate with all areas of CAV, other Government authorities and departments, and industry stakeholders to gather information, interpret legislation, and identify impacts on the various areas to inform project activities.
· Produce guidance materials for CAV operational areas, CAV website content, and training materials. This also includes the development of a stakeholder engagement strategy and materials for meetings and workshop facilitation.
· Prepare, coordinate and manage project plans and reporting requirements for the project in an accurate and timely manner, including defining success measures, roles and responsibilities, and progress monitoring required to manage risks and maximise probability of success.
· Identify interdependencies with other legislation and government agencies to ensure all CAV materials align with requirements.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
· Demonstrated excellent project management skills, well developed project administration and reporting capabilities, and a deep understanding of project impacts and readiness activities, that enables achievement of outcomes.
· Demonstrated excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build and maintain partnerships across multiple areas and understand context to design and implement processes and materials to meet project objectives.
· Demonstrated ability to diagnose obstacles and opportunities in the internal and external environment and resolve issues through a deep understanding or interpretation of overall context, legislation, operational requirements and existing guidance.
· Demonstrated analytical thinking and good writing skills, and the ability to translate strategic direction into plans and activities.
· Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes, detect underlying concerns and use data and subject matter experts to get the best project outcome
