THE ROLE
The Director, Worker Screening Intelligence and Compliance is responsible for leading contemporary and strategic intelligence collection and analysis functions, as well as strategic and operational compliance activities, to support the worker screening regulatory responsibilities of the Social Services Regulator (SSR) under the Worker Screening Act 2020 (Vic).
Reporting to the Executive Director, Worker Screening and Child Safety Reform, the Director supports and strengthens Victoria's Working with Children Check (WWCC) scheme by identifying early indicators and emerging risks that may compromise child safety. The role also provides strategic leadership in the planning, prioritisation and delivery of risk‑based compliance activities aimed at ensuring that people engaged in child-related work are permitted to work with children.
The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team and play a pivotal role in guiding transformational change across the organisation. As a member of the SSR's leadership team, the Director will support the Regulator's strategy and help to drive the Victorian Government's Child Safety Reform agenda, shaping the future direction of intelligence-led regulation and embedding a proactive, preventative approach to child safety.
