We are seeking a Chief People Officer to join our newly established People and Capability team on a fixed term basis commencing June 2026 until February 2027. This is an exciting opportunity as the BPC embarks on new regulatory and insurance functions embedding the People Strategy alongside those.
The Chief People Officer will provide strategic advice to the Commissioner and CEO along with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and lead the BPC People Strategy.
What we are looking for
Substantial executive-level experience, preferably within a government environment with proven success in building an optimal workforce and thriving culture at an enterprise-wide level.
Extensive experience in the design, development and delivery of significant people change management projects, programs and initiatives, the position's primary focus is to build organisational capability, capacity, agility, and innovation to support a resilient workforce that can respond effectively to the BPC's changing environment and stakeholder needs.

BPC is Victoria's regulator for building and plumbing.
It supports the growing Victorian community through the developments of harms-based regulation that is proactive and informed by data and intelligence. The BPC regulates for better consumer outcomes and is committed to safety, compliance and buildings that last.
The BPC's aim is to improve the experience for consumers in the building system by a single-entry point for all aspects of building quality control – regulation, insurance and dispute resolution. The BPC aims to be a leading and trusted regulator, emphasising consumer outcomes, clear communication with practitioners, efficient processes, and a commitment to public interest
The BPC brings key regulatory, dispute resolution, and insurance functions related to the building and plumbing industry together under one roof, streamlining the process for consumers and industry, and enabling the regulator to have oversight of all complaints so they can be handled more effectively and efficiently.
